You may be wondering why it’s so important that you shake your adhesive well?

A well mixed black adhesive will be pure black (with no clear-ish or bubble-ish parts) when you pour your adhesive dot.

If there is a clear looking thing on your adhesive dot, or it isn’t black enough, it means that you haven’t mixed your adhesive well.

If your adhesive is not mixed well, you may begin to notice the quality of your adhesive has dropped. This happens because your concentration is now filled with mostly carbon black and less cyanoacrylate and pmma. These 2 important ingredients are the ones that strengthen the bonding of your work.

How to best mix your adhesive

So, now that we’ve established why it’s so important to mix your lash adhesive, let’s talk about how you should be doing it.

There are two ways to mix your adhesive👇

Manual mixing

Many lash techs simply manually mix their adhesive, and there’s nothing wrong with this, but it can get tiring.

You will need to mix for 1-2mins with your hand for a newly opened bottle (min 30s -1m every drop)

Liquid Mixer

There’s nothing wrong with the old fashion way of doing things, but… having a liquid mixer is a complete game changer. You can lash smarter, not harder and save yourself a ton of energy and time during the day!

Simply mix for a minimum of 10 seconds for a new opened bottle (5 seconds every drop).

Store Properly

You should also always make sure to wipe the nozzle after every use using an adhesive nozzle wipe to prevent the nozzle from getting stuck into the cap, or from residue building up.

To make sure that you are keeping it fresh, you can place a piece of tape with the date you first opened the glue written on it.
